If you’ve seen the movie where Steve Carell recycled dead rats into taxidermy art, then you might want to check out these purry version created by Harry W. Frees over a century ago. While taxidermy itself presents bizarre whack job ideas, you can’t deny it’s still regarded as art, no matter how weird it gets.
But these photos aren’t like the others. These taxidermied animals weren’t in any way murdered, or so they say, and they don’t stand up for macabre art, but were used as children’s postcards.
Seeing these animals wearing clothes and doing human stuff is honestly cute, setting aside the fact that the subjects are dead.
