Since the #newyearnewme hype is still in its prime, allow me to bombard January with everything you need to make the most of 2016.
Honestly, the one thing I regret not doing in 2015 was sticking to plans. I’m pretty sure I was only bent on completing my list last year towards June. Then I totally gave up on it. Although there were a few exceptions where I actually checked an item off, still I couldn’t help but be cynical about doing the whole shebang for the first month of a new year.
For example, this was what I did to my blogging goals. I only started drawing an editorial calendar in September. Whenever I had free time I’d open up drafts which I will leave hanging. I just kept on writing whenever I’m in the mood.
Unfortunately, I had such an excitable and easily distracted mind that towards the end of December, I was looking at over 30 unpublished drafts.
Lesson learned: Plans are just plans, meaningless unless you actually intend on fulfilling it. It’s like your high school project where huge repercussions for failing are expected.
I don’t miss that part of high school but I sure miss the discipline it imposed on me.
The first week of new year is always filled with hopeful planning and goal setting. I’ve always been as spontaneous as can be. This year one of my resolutions is actually doing what I tell myself to do.
(Me: Okay, today you’re going to start being vegan. Eleigh: Okay. I’ll agree but what about hotdogs?) #facepalm
I’m especially ecstatic to do just that this January because I now have a Belle de Jour Power Planner 10th Year Edition! I’ve raffled one off in the Bloggirls Grand Holiday Giveaway last year. I couldn’t help myself so I bought another one in Powerbooks Megamall. I’ve been eyeing the BDJ Planner since I first saw it in 2011 when I was busy browsing through the books in Fullybooked BGC.
I got excited about how it looked so pretty and how it made me want to “live the bella lifestyle” with the discount coupons and the organization sheets. Unfortunately I was still broke that time. Add the fact that I was tied to my profession back then and I’m sure I wouldn’t have used it anyway.
(What are my plans tomorrow? Oh yeah I’m on a straight duty.) #facepalm
Since now I’m on the path of becoming my own boss, I’m so excited to share with you guys the very first planner I bought as a holiday gift for myself. This will keep me on track with everything. I’m loving the feeling of finally getting my hands on one of these babies.
With the Smythe planner comes a Perks of a Bella minibook. It contains a VIP card and over 40,000 worth of discount coupons! Imagine saving P40,000 on just the best things this year? I immediately started tearing off the coupons one by one and organizing everything. I’m just that excited.
There’s also this fun Coupon Completion promo. You have to use up at least 40 coupons by September 30, 2016. If you use up to 40, you get a free 2017 planner. If you use up to 50, you get two for free. However, you may still enjoy discounts if you use at least 30-35.
I’m also starting again with a reading challenge this year. Last year I fell short of 15 on my goal of 20. This year I’m going to be a little more realistic and go for at least 8. The Belle Du Jour Power Planner also comes with an adorable magnetic bookmark. I’m sure that will help me through completing my reading challenge this year.
Just sharing a few graphics in this planner that screams “BELLA”, the so-called dream status of a stylish woman.

Aside from these pages, there’s also a Menstrual tracker, Bills tracker, a 2016 checklist, Ikigai, Your Next Big Idea, Spend Smart shopping list, Health checklist, Beauty Essentials checklist, Events calendar, Belle Du Jour Box 7-day Challenge, and Emergency Information. Woohh! That’s a lot to go OCD on!
Belle De Jour Power Planner has been creating magic and making life more special for women all over the Philippines since 2006.
Had I known about this in high school, I’m sure I would have splurged on it too like I did with my Candy and Meg magazines. However, it wasn’t available in my locale then. I’m just glad to have a Belle Du Jour planner in my make-things-happen arsenal for this year.
