Today, I’m going to talk about the Fire Element. Insert Prince Zuko and the whole fire nation here. The Fire element represents love, passion, joy, celebration, warmth, and sexual desire. The vibrations fire elements bring forth are massive in both positive and negative poles. It can either spur creativity or rage. It can either heighten your drive for productivity or burn you down. Figuratively, of course. That’s why in feng shui the Fire Element should be balanced and would need to be toned down or emphasized depending on the area or the mood you want to create in a certain space.
One would think that fire elements only involve anything red, but there are also other items that would qualify for the Fire Element.
LIGHT. Lampshades, chandeliers and candles can be a good source of fire energy. They give off light, heat, and extend a quaint fiery energy across the whole room.
FIRE PAINTINGS. Yeah, this one is still red but rather on focusing on a single color, it serves as a great fiery focal point in any room that requires intense energy.
CHERRY WOOD. This is a wood element but is considered fiery because of its strong reddish to brownish color. Also goes for any wood stained furniture as long as the staining gives off a fiery color.
CERAMIC POTTERY. Mainly an earth element, ceramic pots can also be considered a fire element if it’s either painted red or engraved with a fire-like pattern.
TRIANGLES AND STARS. Note that these are associated with the shape a typical fire resembles as well as a the shape of a heavenly body made of fire. Both intense and both miniaturized to fit in your room.
What do you feel about the fire element? The color red? Do you have enough in your room or do you need more? No need to consult the Lord of Light here. I found a cool infographic that sums up the basic rules regarding fire elements and would help us balance them out in our rooms.
Damn, I’m trying to take this post and interior design seriously. Why can’t I stop with the geeky fire banters? If you want to contribute any fire-associated geeky references, kindly comment them below. It would really make my day.
