Last November was a starting sprint for this Gemini babe. It heralded the dawn of a workaholic phase in my life that’s a little bit more than barely getting shit together and a little less than actually nailing shit like a hokage.
Things actually got done. Backburner tasks were scratched off one by one. For my online shop, PocketNursing, I was able to get into a production mode–printing and cutting papers, experimenting on flat lay photography while working Photoshop and Instagram for my ads, and reviewing nursing concepts for future big goals. I was also secretly laying out the foundations of another online shop I’ve been dying to put up since forever. To put icing on the cake, I’m also part of a new startup team (team, meaning there are only two of us figuring stuff out). Oh, and I’ve also been doing the groceries and repacking stuff for Christmas gift giving events.
Okay. Writing about all that feels exhausting. And it was, in all honesty. Surprisingly, my micromanaging habits finally proved more useful than ever although there were a few hits and misses here and there. I admit, I kind of neglected my review for the NCLEX. I also stopped hitting the gym (still doing workouts at home though).
I’m pretty much aware that time management will never work for a clutter brain like me, but last month’s stars sure saved my ass.
Here’s an excerpt from Astrostyle’s monthly reading for Gemini.
Gear up, Gemini: A change-filled year will wrap up with another wave of celestial action, as the stars shift and shuffle about. Luckily, you’ll be navigating it in good company. This December, you’ll spend a lot of time evaluating your relationships and getting crystal-clear about who belongs in the Gemini inner circle. The Sun is making its annual rounds through Sagittarius (until December 21), then Capricorn—the rulers of your committed-relationship and intimacy houses.
It all starts the opening weekend of this month. On Saturday, December 2, expansive Jupiter forms a rare and healing trine with compassionate Neptune—the first of three between now and August 2018. It’s a gift the world sorely needs after a turbulent 2017. Global connector Jupiter is in Scorpio and your sixth house of health, service and organization. Look for ways you can give back, perhaps through your career, as the giant planet pings Neptune in Pisces and your professional, status-driven tenth house.
But the stars are just warming up. The next day, December 3, brings the year’s only Gemini full moon (also a supermoon)—which is a cosmic coming-out party thrown in your honor. Whatever you’ve been working on since your birthday could have a full-circle moment. The spotlight is on you, so get even gutsier about speaking up and letting people know what you need. Feel free to tell a certain someone what you DON’T like, either. If you’ve been tolerating subpar treatment, la luna helps you set firm boundaries. Instead of focusing on this person’s trifling antics, pour that energy into numero uno. One of your personal goals or solo endeavors could attract extra buzz now. Spread the word!
Just do everything with a heaping help of tact and diplomacy. From December 3 to 22, your ruling planet, Mercury, will spin retrograde, scrambling communication, technology and travel plans. (Yup, just in time for the holidays!) So as the Gemini full moon hands you the mic, Mercury snatches it away like, “No girl. You can’t say that in public.” Ah, the paradoxes of #GeminiLife!
Things are quieter in the cosmos after this until December 18, when another loaded week begins. That day marks a Sagittarius new moon, which brings a fresh start to your partnership house. You’re probably ready for one! And with the Sun, Mercury, harmonizer Venus AND stabilizing Saturn also in Sagittarius today, you’ll have no choice but to deal with things head-on. Use this day to clear the air and get wayward relationships back on track.
Merging and joint ventures are about to become a serious theme anyhow, so you might as well start the talks! On December 19, structured Saturn sets off on a three-year visit to Capricorn and your eighth house of bonding, intimacy, wealth and shared resources. This is Saturn’s first trip here since February 1991, and it will reveal the important boundaries and agreements you need to have in place before you can truly join forces with another person or entity. Between now and December 17, 2020, prepare to do a lot of growing up around eighth house themes of money management, real estate, spirituality, emotional depth, sexuality, and permanent relationships.
By New Year’s Eve, there will be four heavenly bodies in Capricorn: the Sun, romantic Venus, mature Saturn and transformational Pluto. Speaking of “heavenly bodies,” the eighth house rules sex and intimacy—which could make for a steamy start to 2018!
Re-evaluate your Relationships
Friends? Acquaintances? Frenemies? It’s time to get clear on who deserves your time and attention the most. Being the social butterfly that you are Gemini, you’re often surrounded by people. However, as much as you delight in social interactions, there are times when you have to draw the line between plain acquaintances and real friendships. Not to mention a casual hookup and a whirlwind romance that’s for keeps.
Learn to stay true to your feelings. Figure out what you actually want versus what you can simply put up with. Communicate your thoughts well. This includes defining boundaries and relaying how exactly you deserve to be treated. You’re a good person, you know. You just have a slight tendency to be too good that you allow people to walk all over you. Your inability to be frank can sometimes get the best of you like how it might have screwed you up earlier this chaotic 2017. You know better.
On a side note, since Mercury Retrograde is coming the first three weeks of December, this won’t be easy. Oh the paradoxes of a Gemini #facepalm. Communication lines will be difficult and people won’t get what you mean.
I guess in the spirit of re-evaluating friendships with Mercury on the retrograde, my best advice would be to, yes, figure out what you like and what you don’t like in your relationships, but do nothing about them in the meantime.
Let’s be real. There are high chances you’ll be misunderstood during this slow burn season. Do send fun holiday greetings to people you value most. Don’t start telling people what you don’t like about them (coz hunny, that’s just mean). Find the right timing for sitting down and talking about feelings and shit. However, I’m pretty sure there’s a chance you would literally do nothing about this until you’re at the brink of losing it. Just put a thought to your relationships and figure things out as you go.
‘Tis the season for gift giving and volunteering. As a Gemini, you know you love organizing or setting up events to give back to your community. Surviving 2017 has been a stretch and seriously, you have a LOT to be thankful for. One way to express your gratitude is by spending time to make the holiday season a little more festive for the less fortunate.
Start by de-cluttering your room of things to throw away and things you can gift to someone this holiday season. You can also find time on your calendar to volunteer in soup kitchens or gift giving events. Visit local bazaars and purchase creative items that are sold by non-profit organizations. If you’re quite a busybody, there are a lot of charitable organizations in Manila that would greatly appreciate your donations online. Here are two organizations I’m currently affiliated with:
CHILD HAUS MANILA is an establishment near Philippine General Hospital that gives free temporary shelter for patients who live in the provinces and far flung areas, and are currently undergoing long term and continuous medical treatments like chemotherapy and heart surgeries.
SAVE THE CHILDREN is an international non-profit organization that advocates for children in crisis. They have several programs that involve community rehabilitation after natural disasters, counseling victims of abuse and neglect and promoting health and education.
Look left and right before crossing!
Gemini’s destiny this December would be full of social energy. This involves blossoming partnerships whether in romance or business. However, we have to take Mercury retrograde seriously. Take that extra pause to think things through. Ask signs from the universe whether you need to take the plunge or keep things cool.
This is like crossing a street without street lights. Weigh things down first and tone down your impulses before making major decisions. In our world, not all that glitters is gold. The fact that things surprise us more often than not makes it clear that we need to be extra vigilant this month.
