Popularizing Marsala red as the trend color of the year 2015, Pantone once again brings us their trending color forecast for the year 2016: Rose Quartz and Serenity. Ultra-feminine and calming, these colors are set to create a more relaxed and peaceful mood for the year 2016. Exactly what the world needs, I should say.
“Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.”
-Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director,Pantone Color Institute
I love how these color combo seeks to unite the whole world in a revolution for peace, tranquility and love. It stands for acceptance and empowerment. It promotes wellness and ultimate zen. It yearns to give everyone a break from all the hostility and turmoil that egoistic individuals continue to plague us with. More importantly, it creates hope for a better world.
And newsflash, to show my support for this cause, I have decided to dye my hair Rose Quartz by the end of this year.
I admit, I’m slowly getting tired of my blonde hair and have contemplated dying it a bright color for some time. I just wasn’t sure what color I can live with seeing that my blonde hair already turned heads. I guess, like a rebirth of sorts, a new hair for new year signals an awakening inside me. I’ve always picked the safe and anonymous. And being safe and anonymous is the last thing I want to be for the rest of my life. If I were to make a mark in this world and unleash my unforgivingly daring side, I guess I should start with my hair. I welcome change in my life, even a radical one just to shaken things up. And I’m sure as hell I won’t regret going pink because it’s not just a hair color, it’s a style statement with a cause that goes deeper than vanity.
And to all you guys thinking about joining the Pink Revolution, here’s a quick photo inspiration I created to convince you it’s going to be worth it.
