Let’s start with the racist ads. These ads were examples of how racists back then considered dark pigmented skin as a sort of impurity that needs to be bleached. The efficiency of their product lies in how it can make a black person’s skin white, which is totally absurd. I mean really, if I were a proud black woman, I’d hold an official soap-throwing event at the facade of the companies who endorsed these. Nothing enrages people more than racism, especially in the world of today where equal rights have been established and you can be sued for even the slightest racist remarks.
