They greet you with a smile despite getting another shift extension. They keep calm and steady during times of rattling emergencies so they can give you the best medical attention possible. They try their hardest to motivate you in your most depressing hospital stay despite having their own problems to cry about. They place themselves in danger to tend to the health needs of countries’ heroes. While you may always see them going around the hallway holding a bunch of medications and papers, and at some times not at all because they’re flocked all over someone else trying to revive them, sometimes nurses know how to chill and have fun too.
The story of Nurse Hattie, known as “Nurse Hottie” is a cute one. For her charming innocent smile and cool family name, patients and co-workers would call her “Nurse Hottie”, and while this may have placed a smile on some people, the nuns who used to run the nursing school, didn’t take it as lightly, which is in itself funny too.
The “You Better Drink Your Medicine” Nurses
These nurses want to make sure you drink your medications and adhere to the prescribed daily routine as you get discharged. They’re serious and you know it.
Nurses Chillin’ Out After Shift
Nurses know how to chill out and take group pics after a day’s work, still smiling no matter how challenging the day has been.
Show and Tell
These nursing students presenting the nurses’ cap evolution of style.
Military nurse mending a soldier’s hand
This is probably the chillest shift ever. I never imagine military nurses having perfect hair and the time to pose for a picture during a normal shift.
Female nurses making out, or joking about it
I have no idea about the story behind this post card but it seems these nurses are making out or just kidding around. There used to be a strict moral code for homosexuals then so I really wonder what happened to these lovers/jokers. Either way, they’re awesome.
Nurse with her dog
This dog may have been a medical or war hero for a nurse to put him on a pedestal and take a picture. Could have been her pet dog too, but aren’t they adorable?
Nurses playing soccer in their uniform
A good old kick the ball game would be a fun way to pass the time.
Nurses in a limbo rock position
This is a really funny photo despite their serious faces. The cheesiest group photo ever.
Nurse wearing a gas mask
Nurses during WWII had to wear gas masks as precaution to possible chemical warfare. Enlisting for this kind of job takes a lot of spunk. And to be wearing one with a braid? Totally badass chic.
Nurses and their young patients
Kids are the toughest patients for me, but these ladies seem to be enjoying their time with the children in their care. These kids seem to be well behaved for the photo.
Nurses in a Crib
Young at heart nurses fooling around inside a crib. Hilarious. A calendar should be made featuring this and other photoshopped images of nurses in cribs. I wonder what they’re holding though.
Nurses’ glamour shot
Okay. Time for a quick glamour shot for a Christmas post card. Nailed it.
Nurse taking a quick sip of “Cough Syrup”
Sometimes nurses have a habit of not practicing what they preach.
The Horrors of the Pedia Ward
The Pedia ward is my personal hospital nightmare. Crazy kids, angry parents. I just can’t.
The-patients-are-asleep Group Shot
The typical group picture of night shift nurses after every patient has been carefully tucked into bed. No medical emergencies. Bliss.
Nurses preparing and cooking meals
Believe it or not, preparing meals for patients were part of a nurse’s responsibility back then. Good thing I’m born in the 21st century.A
Really Pretty Parachute Nurse
I don’t really care if this nurse is somebody’s granny now, she’s fucking gorgeous.
I’m pretty sure these bedpans are new for these nurses to decide to use it as props. If those aren’t then they could be really high from something because I’m not touching a damn used bedpan.
Nurses in tall bikes
What a great way to get around town.
